David Godowsky - Making It Up As I Go: Even writing this trash for SYFFAL, I sometimes get writing block. (not writer's block, because I aint no fucking writer because I over-use words like 'aint' and 'fucking' and because I use the word 'because' 4 times in one sentence). Anyhoo, to combat this block I just start typing and something comes out....eventually. This song sounds like the music version of that process; David Godowsky just starts singing. The only difference is his outcome is wayyyyy better.

BADBADNOTGOOD - Time Moves Slow (Ft. Sam Herring): Sam Herring's voice is so damn versatile. He's the Deon fucking Sanders of Music. AND holy balls marinating on a skewer does that voice sound amazing with this groove.

The Strokes - OBLIVIOUS: I will always listen to new Strokes in the hopes of finding something that will make me want to to break out my Strokes t-shirt from 2001. Success.

Mondo Cozmo - Hold On To Me: When I first heard this song on Soundcloud it tugged my taint strings AND THEN I came across the video. The bucket full of feelz I already held towards this song started over-flowing. Go see your Grandma/pa if you're lucky enough to still have one.

Little Children - Every Little Light: I swore this was The War On Drugs when it first filled my ear holes. 20 listens later and I still don't believe that it isn't The War On Drugs.

Cass McCombs - Opposite House: Cass McCombs is like Beach House for me. I can only take him in one song doses. For some reason when I hear 2 or 3 songs back to back I start to tune out. I still love him though. 'County Line' remains one of my all-time favorites. And this track is getting a ton of play this month. That fucking guitar lick is so damn smooth.

FAWNN - Galaxies: FAWNN is another band that I went to Joel to brag about my discovery....only to find out he covered them a year ago. Regardless, this song kicks so much medium-paced ass.

School '94 - Common Sense: This is pure-summer-sunburnt-butt-cheeks-indie-pop at it's finest. Why are my butt cheeks burnt? Because that damn Coppertone puppy keeps pulling down my Speedo when I'm at the beach.

Speedy Ortiz - Death Note: Anytime I feel like heading back to the 90's I turn on some Speedy and draw the Stussy logo on my Trapper Keeper.

Tired Lion - I Don't Think You Like Me: Since we are in the 90's we might as well stay there with Tired Lion. More angsty female vocals, more feedback, more fuzz, more power chords. YASSSSSSSSSSS!!!! I love me some 90's inspired shit.
