Best Albums of 2015 - 2nd Quarter

Staff | June 30, 2015
I dare anyone to say the second quarter of 2015 doesn't have huge luscious music balls dangling down against their forehead bro. As much as Top 40 radio wants us to believe there are only four songs available for your listening pleasure, WE ASSURE YOU BROS, THERE IS MUCH MUCH MORE. Take our recommendations for instance, they're 70% less fat and 40% more inspiring than the commercial blend of sass you hear in the bathrooms at Walmart. If you don't agree with our pics, please to call yer ma bro, cause this isn't just a dicktatershit, this is a syffalocracy bros.

Quick Fix: Dirty Digital - Mumbles, ft. Adad

Joel Frieders | June 10, 2015
I was supposed to add three things to the grocery list app on my phone, but Facebook was open and no matter how many times I hit the home button it wouldn't take me away from the Facebook. I must've pawed at this gargantuan asshole I call a phone a good two tree times. But fate would have nothing of it bros. AND THUS... At the very top of the feed I couldn't close fast enough was a post from one of my favorite rappers, and it included two words I have been looking to see used in a sentence since a fucking lifetime ago. The rapper is Qwa and the two words smooshed together to make hell yes is Dirty Digital. There was a freshly shared soundcloud link, and it said Dirty Digital ft. Adad. WHAT. Dirty Digital is Qwa rapping over Silence beats, but Silence also raps, and most of the beats are...

One Song: D.V.S* - Hashu feat. Stév

Brandon Backhaus | June 10, 2015
When I've played a song for every single person that has come into my life in the span of a week, it has been decreed that I need adopt said song into my life like a dog from the pound. "Hashu" feat. Stév from Emancipator's Loci Records signee D.V.S* has me laid out on the hood of my car stargazing with girls I barely know. It's like we're hiking and the forest clears for misty cliffs and oceanic horizons. It's like I'm spinning… and not the kind of spinning that has one leg off the bed trying to find the floor and one hand pressed desperately against the wall in an attempt to make it stop. I mean the good kind. The child-like kind of spinning where you're smiling and on somebody's lawn on a Saturday. Maybe there are sprinklers, but I barely remember what those are like since I'm from LA...

Announcements: Emancipator - Diamonds (Live)

Brandon Backhaus | June 3, 2015
Emancipator, with his release, Safe in the Steep Cliffs, catapulted himself into my ears like a miniature person with a mission to massage my malleus. Let's just say that I'm the one who got the happy ending. It seems Emancipator, whose government name is Doug Appling, is in no way done. In fact, dude doubled down, took a long draw of whiskey, leaned back in his chair, hands resting across his chest, flirting with his own nipples, a smirk across his smug face like he's staring at fucking blackjack. Emancipator has branched out, debuting the Emancipator En-fucking-semble last year. That's Emancipator's layered and scrumdittliumptious production being played by REAL LIFE MUSICIANS in a REAL LIFE BAND bringing Emancipator's REAL AUDIO PROCLAMATIONS to your head holes on a whole new...

Sky Rider - City Streets

Ralph Perez | June 1, 2015
Dudes, you ever hear a song and instantly make the face like you're having a seizure while taking a girthy shit?!?!!! Yes, you have you lying dick!! I had the feeling the day I pressed play on Skyrider's new single "City Streets" off his album Ghost Dance. This shit is pure drum pattern & synth sex all deep in my ear holes. It is warm, aggressive without punching you in the balls, and it is hella cinematic! In case you live in a huge, dark, internet deficient hole you should know that Skyrider is the production behind former Anticon founder, and current political rap maniac Sole. You should also know that the new album from Skyrider drops on June 9th via Sole's new label Black Box Tapes. Peep the premiere SYFFAL was given by the dudes, and then support the album Ghost...

Soundset 2015 - Canterbury Park - Shakopee, MN

Johnny Symmes | May 31, 2015
There is something about me, music festivals, and rain. If I chose to go to Coachella I swear I could end California’s drought. Instead I went to Soundset, the largest hip-hop festival in the country, located in Minneapolis. This was my first time in Minnesota, but I’m a lifelong Rhymesayers fan so fuck yeah I was stoked for this trip. Rain in Denver delayed my flight so I hit the ground running upon arriving in the Twin Cities. There was no time to fuck around. I met my friend Kiley, who came down from Wisconsin to be the photographer for the show, we dropped our bags and smashed First Avenue for the pre-party. I was really excited just to be at First Avenue. The place is legendary. I mean… fucking Purple Rain for fucks sake. We walked in while Fashawn was killing the stage. This is a...

Announcements: Low Cut Connie - The Tonic Room in Chicago on 5/30

Tom Doz | May 30, 2015
Because I'm getting old(er) I only committ to a concert if I'm 95% certain it's going to singe my ballhairz. AND I don't go to big venues because fuck big venues. If I wanted to watch a concert on a jumbotron I'd stay home and watch Palladia. Thus, standing room only is a must, the samller the better, and I need to get spit and/or sweated on. This is why as soon as Low Cut Connie's show at The Tonic Room was announced, I immideately made that arrangements to cover said show.  No, I never seen Low Cut Connie in person, but I have heard from reputable sources that they singe ball hairz. Not only this, but there is this thing called YouTube and it allows you to see live videos of bands and watch hillariously cute kitten videos. From these videos, and their new album that just fucking...
