One Song

Kotomi

Shiny

Hey do you jerks remember when I used to bang out mixtapes every two weeks? Yeah, it has been a minute hasn't it?! Back then the impetus to the Track Marks project was that I'd fairly regularly hear a song on Soundcloud that would rock my world so succinctly that it compelled me to try to spread it to as many people as far and wide as possible. Streaming was good and all, but when an earworm digs into you the world's wifi and 3g restrainsts just won't cut it. I had to give the people something more, tangible...or as tangable a zip file of mp3s can be. I'm rambling here but the point is that another song has kicked me in the balls and made me decide that I need to spend some quality time this weekend curating a new mixtape. That song of course is from SYFFAL sweetheart, Kotomi.....and it is a perfect piece of electrohaunt.

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to cruise around LA/ w Kotomi in an Uber with a kickass soundsystem and tons of road to spare as we made our way to see Active Child at the Immanuel Presbyterian . We gave "Shiny" the post master mix car ride test and it pulverized our souls.  What I didn't realize at the time was that we didn't really need the Uber at all. Kotomi, that sly wild child, was already taking us to god damn church with this track. "Her "Shiny"  sound rose us to the heavens and then dropped us back down w/ an endless bounce that said  "Fuck it.Judgment Day ain't tonight so let's sin a little and sweat it all tomorrow. This IS Happening"

Now here I am weeks later and I've ready to cobble together another mixtape thanks to Kotomi. Stay tuned...
