Tom Doz

Every morning I wake up and take a dull pencil to the dimple of my chin to ensure that it stays deep enough to utilize for everyday activities well into my old age. I call it shaping for the future. These activities include opening beer bottles, getting deep into those back massaging pressure points and storing Monopoly pieces. I also listen to music. I love music. Especially music that Employee hates.

Tom Doz | July 28, 2016
Chris Staples - Park Bench: Before I start diving into this month's songs I need to give a shout out to my on-line DJing friend Cello for sparking my love for 3 or 4 songs on this list. Park Bench has that awesome guitar picking and tapping...

Gregory Alan Isakov w/ The Ghost Orchestra and Andrea Gibson - Thalia Hall - Chicago - 6.13.16

Tom Doz | June 23, 2016
So I know this concert was last week, but I think I needed a week to process. That, and because I'm a procrastinator.  This last month I've been all over Gregory Alan Isakov's balls. He recently put out an album with a collection of his songs...

Whitney - Light Upon The Lake

Tom Doz | June 15, 2016
This album by Whitney is just a little weird...not too weird. Just covered in a thin film of weird. The sound is a little lo-fi, but only to the point where it sounds retro. The singer's voice is a little strange but distinct enough to be...

Gregory Alan Isakov - Gregory Alan Isakov With The Colorado Symphony Orchestra

Tom Doz | June 7, 2016
I'm going to skip the suspenseful foreplay and tell you in the first sentence: THIS album is the best and most beautiful album you will hear this year.  I'm talking painful, blissful and emotional beauty.  All of the above and at the same time.  I'm talking...

One Song: Ryley Walker - The Halfwit In Me

Tom Doz | June 2, 2016
If you haven't been paying attention, I probably love Ryley Walker more than the birds that he allows to nest in his hair.  That dirty loveable hippie. Okay, so I don't know for a fact that he is dirty...or even a hippie, but I can't help...

Gregory Alan Isakov - Liars (Ft. Colorado Symphony Orchestra): This may be the most important song I'll urge you to listen to this week because I'll be reviewing this album closer to the release date. I have two rules though: 1. Find a moment...

Mike Adams At His Honest Weight - Casino Drone

Tom Doz | May 12, 2016
I'm really not trying to sound like an old fuck who complains about millennials, because fuck those old fucks. Technology changes different generations and we shouldn't hold these advancements against them. The same hypocritical assholes complaining about...

White Denim - Had 2 Know (Personal)

Tom Doz | May 4, 2016
This video is the 5,987th reason I love White Denim. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that anybody who grew up playing guitar would look up guitar tabs of their favorite songs on the internet and learn how to play along with said songs....
