One Song

Wildcat

Marfa

Wildcat! Wildcat! just released their debut album No Moon At All and it's pretty fucking good. I'm probably going to review it soon, but because I prcastinatez, I needed to get up this track for Marfa ASAP.

fucking Marfa!

I've mentioned many times before that I'm a whore for songs that take me on journeys. Songs that end nothing like they start.....like the band is mashing a couple of tracks into one. Think 'A Day In The Life' of 'Paranoid Android'.

fucking Marfa!

This song is the last track on the album and the finale is grandiously epic. What starts out like a MGMT track (before MGMT took too much acid) takes a drastic turn at 2.15 when the dance beat dicipates into nothing and we are left with a repeating and quietly crooning line 'You don't have to be alone.' Then the shit just builds and builds until you think your taint can't handle any more chillz, when all of the sudden the song opens up at 4.10.

Bro, I saw fireworks in slow motion. I saw a mental time lapse capturing flowers blooming in spring. I saw Brian Wilson's head on Kate Upton's body riding a horse in a bikini.

And there is still almost a minute and a half left!

The fucking harmonies swirl around you like the Wildcat! Wildcat! is channeling Cut Copy when Cut Copy is channeling The Beach Boys when The Baech Boys are channeling their nightmares about Charles Manson. The over stimulation turns into paralization and you are left tightened pants and drool stainz on your neon tank top.

fucking Marfa, bro.
