World Premiere

The Coasts

On Your Own

Tom Doz | March 4, 2015

The ambiguously great duo, Eric Mount and Ike Peters of The Coasts, have put out a split single with the frightening Jesse Alexander & co. of battle ave. On Your Own is a-side to battle ave.'s new track called 'THE SUN'.

Both are dope. Both are sex in a hot tub trimmed out in neon lights.

BUT what you'll find above is the world premiere video of On Your Own. So, get ready to EXERCIIIIIIIISSSSE the demons.

I have no idea where The Coasts found this clip, in which they spliced their song into, but it's gold. It's like the 70's version of Fox and Friends or perhaps an inspiration behind Dana Carvey's Church Lady.

The squareness of these people perfectly juxtapose The Coasts raunchy, yet bright, brand of garage rock. Still The Coasts win the panel over in the end because The Coasts rule, and you can't fight that happy feeling their music brings to your loins.

I've been a huge fan of both battle ave. and The Coasts for a while now and this split single, to me, is like watching two hot girls makeout. You know, when two awesome things come together?

...Maybe I should have used milk and cookies analogy because that mental image just made me uncomfortably shudder.

But I digress. In addition to the bandcamper below make sure to check out both of these band's complete discographies. battle ave. songs are perfect to have on while stitching the holes in your socks back together and purposely poking yourself with the needle. The Coasts songs are perfect to have on when you want to rock out in your brand new pair of white sneakers in nothing but a button down oxford. You have your assignment. Run along now....
