Sister Crayon

Providence

I literally can't get enough of Sacramento's Sister Crayon. I can't even pretend like the crush isn't real. The throbbing rhythms of Dani Fernandez, and the piercing vocals of Terra Lopez make the hair on my neck stand at 5 star attention.

There isn't another group doing this level of haunted, head nod-inducing, and progressively aggressive.

This video is for all the outlaws, all the weirdos, all my people living their true selves outside of the confines of narrow minds. These are the people that get the deepest, squeeziest Brando hugs. I've been called a freak magnet. I've been called a freak. I've been called fat and unattractive and ugly and stupid by weak, sad people. Only I didn't know they were weak and sad, because they seemed so powerful at the time.

You see, those kind of words don't maintain the order of things. We now know they come of fear and pain. We understand the origins because those very same sentiments have left us with a lifetime spent battling those demons of our own insecurity. We just choose beauty and courage and true strength now that we know. We refuse to succumb to the temptations of weakness. We never choose to be "freaks". But we DO choose to cause no harm.

Sister Crayon causes no harm. Sister Crayon heals.

I feel a debt of gratitude to these two beautifully strong and beautifully beautiful original unique fucking badass humans. I'm yours.
