2012 Year In Review: Our Favorite Songs of 2012

Songs bro.

Our favorite songs are the rye chips in our yearly fucking bag of Gardettos bro. They're the specifically memorable experiences with artists we've loved and artists we've just started stalking. They're your favorite jeans when you hear em throughout the albums you might be diggin on, but they're brand new fucking underwear when heard in a mix of their own.

We didn't just outdo ourselves with our favorite Songs of 2012 bible, we might actually break the fucking internet this is so fucking thick with awesome.

Del hooked up the spotify playlists where possible, Where songs weren't available, Timmy inserted his long hard...

2012 Year In Review: Our Favorite Albums of 2012

We are shutting down shop for the year and heading off to the SYFFAL holiday retreat and as always we will be spending it at Joel's compound in rural Illinois where we will drink until Tom passes out and then take turns drawing dicks on his face.

For us this is just as much a holiday tradition as watching A Christmas Story, getting drunk and quietly pining for your new, super hot 27 year old step mom Glenda, is a gift for you.

Being that this is our last column of the year it is only appropriate that we count down our top album of the year. The top albums of the year list, at least for me, always contains a few entries that cause me to look back, SMH and think WTF.1 And you know what? I am fine with this, because I have come to the conclusion that it is rarer for an album...

2012 Year In Review: Our Favorite Videos of 2012

I’m literally writing this introduction to the list of the best videos of the year naked in bed, covered in Doritos crumbs, with a nasty Jameson meets So Co and egg nog hangover, after buying and helping my ex-wife put up a Christmas Tree for the kids in her apartment.

Don’t you just love the holidays?

Man Fuck this time of year.

I’m just happy that I have things like Syffal and this list of the most badass videos of 2012. This year, music has been all over the place. As are our best video picks. From Grizzly Bear to Danny Brown, Com Truise to Killer Mike, Paint Fumes to Father John Misty.

This might have been my favorite year for music since like 1993. And I’m into underground hip hop, so that’s like saying...

2012 Year In Review: Our Favorite New Bands of 2012

2012 you filthy whore of a year, you are finally leaving us and now it’s our turn to tell you what a joy it has been to have you in our lives. We spent the past few weeks prattling on about which albums we loved most over the past 12 years, well now its time to jump into the fire and talk about the past 12 months, which were pretty fucking good.

For our first recap column we are going to focus on the new artists that made an impression with us, so each of our contributors have put together a list of their top 3 new artists for 2012. If the artist had a single in the second half of 2011, but dropped the album in 2012, we consider them 2012..so Fuck you. If the artist dropped an obscure EP a few years back and we missed it...

Our Top 10 Albums of 2011

Tom Dozois'
Top 10 Albums of 2011

10. The Coasts - The CoastsIke and Eric (aka hairy and baldy) of The Coasts are a cuddlier version of The Black Keys. I’ve told many about them and the response is always positive. My wife even likes this album…that is saying something. Trust me.

9. Fleet Foxes – Helplessness BluesThe sound that Fleet Foxes is able to achieve on Helplessness Blues is remarkable. It is warmer than my crotch in a sauna, but not as damp. You feel me?
