Tag Your Music So You Don't Suck Bro

Joel Frieders | September 27, 2012

I'm pissed off motherfuckers. All of you talented and not so talented (I'm looking at you Ireland) musicians and artists out there are fucking up. And it's not like I'm shitting on your music right now, that shit might suck fucking cock, but I'm talking about something as sim-fucking-ple as you PUTTING YOUR GODDAMN NAME ON YOUR GODDAMN MUSIC for fuck's sake.

If I had a blowjob for as many times I unzip an album from a fucking band that hasn't been properly tagged, I would have a pruned fucking pecker goddamnit.

What the fuck is wrong with you shitdicks? If you want someone to fucking listen to, potentially enjoy and then fucking talk about your fucking music, FUCKING PUT YOUR NAME ON IT FOR FUCK'S SAKE YOU TITTYSHITTING SHIT TITS.

I realize that some of you are internally saying "fuck this dude" right now, because why else would you submit your music, without your name on it, to syffal or any of the other millions of music sites out there?

You're too proud to admit you fucked up. You've already spent too much time recording the 27 song album, with 4 bonus live cuts of the same song from the same show, uploading all of it to your Reverb Nation site and then blasting the shit out to your facebook and twitter accounts to your 27 likes and 7 followers, why take the time to tag your music?

BECAUSE SON. THIS YOUR DAD SPEAKING. TAG YOUR MUSIC.

I've seriously had it with you pubicwigs, so I've concocted a simple step by step method to tagging your music using iTunes. If you're anti-apple, fist off "you're so cool bro", please google another mp3 tagging software, just fucking tag the shit goddamnit. It isn't hard, but it's the LAST thing you have to do before sharing your awesomeness with the internet.

Follow these steps in iTunes bro bro:

Step 1:

Just make sure your iTunes has "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" selected. You peep this by clicking Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Check the box and hit OK bro bro.

Step 2

Make a new playlist called ARTIST NAME - ALBUM NAME - and don't be a dickwipe, the artist name is your band name and the album name is your album name.

Step 3

On your computer find your album in its entirety, select all of it, and drag the motherfucker into the playlist you just created bro bro. There should be a green plus sign while doing this bro.

Step 4

Peep your shit, does it have the artist name, album name, track names, year of publishing, and genre? If yes, consider yourself fucking awesome. If not, keep reading dude.

Step 5

In iTunes, select all, then right click and select Get Info. Edit the Artist Name, the Album Name, the Year and the Genre. The last two aren't crucial, but come on, make a fucking effort bro.

Step 6: Now that your entire album says your band name and album name, time to name the tracks bro.

Step 7

Once everything is named and you're happy with your shit, select all the tracks and drag them onto your desktop or into a new folder. TAGGED BRO.

BONUS Step 8

Uploading to the internet seems a bit fucking confusing to people for some reason, so here's how you do that bro. Download WinRAR or WinZIP or whatever zip software you want to use, I don't give a fuck. Put all of your tracks in a folder and rename the folder the name of the band and album, RIGHT CLICK and Zip it or Add to archive or Compress to file, whatever. Go to ge.tt or mediafire.com or whatthefuckever site you wanna upload the shit to, and upload the shit. EMAIL THAT LINK to people you want to hear your music, properly tagged, zipped, and awesome.

If you have a better way of doing this, tell us, and we'll high five you through the internet.

But seriously, this shit is easy if you take the five minutes to fucking do it. There is no excuse for putting your fucking music out into the internet without your name on it you fucking poodick.

Good luck. Poodick.
