Mirémonos, Our Bandcamp Artist of the Week

Sometimes SYFFAL runs itself.

I'm not saying that the website magically writes all this fantastical bullshit without any human strokings, but sometimes when we're scratching our balls over being unable to decide on our Bandcamp Artist of the Week, BAM, some band from Spain says "hey listen to this".

And then we do.

And then we look around us like "Where's the fucking camera? This is too fucking awesome to be a regular broke ass band from the Spainish countryside" and then Del's all "I'm short and a fucking piece of shit" and then we're all "Damn right you are dude".

So Mirémonos contacted us about their latest single Jagermeister, which is a sonic ear Fuck from another galaxy, drizzled in a trebly guitar melody with a spine tingling spine Fuck from a drummer on a shit load of opioids. And while I love the shit out of it by itself, their 3 song EP titled Kaizen from 2009 has grown on me like a herpes outbreak on my friend Del's pet poodle "Princess Del Jr.".

Taking the indie approach of including post-rock, rock, cacaphony and squee, Mirémonos are a mutt of musical proportions and are a perfect example of emotion over execution in a few spots. Not only is that okay by me, it actually makes the band more endearing knowing that they're too busy feeling the fucking awesome of their music to be hindered by a constant critical meter.

While we have never been to Spain, and we really hate the Irish, Mirémonos have completely changed the way we will treat Mexicans.

The reason why Mirémonos is our Bandcamp Artist of the Week is because they are fucking awesome in a number of different genres, and because they are fucking smart, they haven't inundated us with too much music. Supply and demand is right where it should be. Four fucking songs? THAT'S IT?
