I have a giant rubbery one for good 1990s throwback rap. Especially when it is just a bunch of assholes absolutely murdering a beat designed for murderings shit on.
I miss a good posse cut with rappers basically playing a game of horse and trying to one up each other, with skills, patterns, lyrics, and punchlines. It was a staple that eventually got played the fuck out because too many fucktards would throw their mans and them, or pay too much for a guest verse from a rapper that is guest versing because he has a car payment. The art was dead.
Then these shitbirds Iron Mic (The Iron Bar Collective and Mic Lanny) go and drop the video for Lost Souls, a killer posse cut that is perfectly grimy, expertly produced and beyond words lyrical. It's some fucking shpitting lyrics shit...yeah SHPITTING.
Top is off with a video that is reminiscent of the gutter ass project hallways/lo-fi early 90s Brooklyn/NYC steez with a fish eyed lens effect that makes everyone look like they have NBA Jams heads and well, I am fucking sold.
If you need me I will be spending the next 5 hours splitting Dutches and drinking 40 dogs with no shirts, my Joe Boxer boxers and a pair of Timbs.
