THE SYFFALIST - Del's Top Ten Remix Artists Right Now

Every two weeks I troll the internet for songs to rock my ears and yours for Track Marks. It's a labor of love that can be challenging at times. Quite often I get told to shove off when I ask artists for permission to use their tracks for my mixtapes. Usually I curse them and their MGMT and go fishing for a remix version of the very same song I was just denied. This passive aggressive behavior has led me to unearth a slew of killer remix artists that I may have normally ignored. You see I used to be very anti remix. I'm not sure why really. I have always loved covers and at their core remixes are really just covers right? Covers that are usually dance floor bangers that make you feel like you've just sucked down an adderal, ecstasy and sassafras cocktail.

I'm guessing....

Chromatics - Kill For Love - Album Review

Salty old veterans of SYFFAL and our Track Marks mixes will recall enjoying Chromatics' slow burning cover of The Boss' I'm on Fire. The rest of you with poor memory or the even more reprehensible characteristic of never downloading my mixes might recall hearing the Chromatics Tick of the Clock as part of the stellar Drive Soundtrack.

What? You still haven't seen that movie yet? You're so fucking dead to me. The movie is so badass. It's actually two movies if you really think about it. The movie switches gears (pun shamefully intended) from...

The Chemical Brothers - Don't Think - Album Review

Coachella 2011's highlight for me was hands don't the explosive, intense, and all around badass set put on my turn of the century electronic superstars The Chemical Brothers. Their set was a tour through their "Storied if you love drugs and vicks vapor rub" discography.

While musically this album encompasses all of the songs from the Don't Think concert film I highly recommend renting the full on blu-ray to truly embrace the experience. I saw this in a movie theater and it turned into a freaky dance party. Drugs, is there anything they can't do?

At the theater I started having Coachella 2011 flashbacks. I left my seat, but i was stone cold sober so I thought...

The SYFFALIST: 10 Best music related movies and TV shows currently available for you to stream on Netflix.

Netflix has always been a part of my life...um..most of my life I guess. I was an early adopter who touted the service to all who would listen to the point where people assumed I was an investor. There's was a simple brilliant service that delivered excitement one red envelope at a time. I was obsessive about making sure my return windows were minuscule and that I got all three dvds back to the shipping centers by Monday to be set up for new movie Tuesdays. I made fucking spreadsheets breaking down my ROI rates. Like I said I was a bit obsessive. It didn't matter of course because no matter what I did I would always be a slave to the US Postal Service and their sporadic and sluggish delivery.

Then came the godsend that was...

Spawn of Possession - Incurso - Album Review

Spawn of Possession is the cute, yet slightly skanky, girl next door that gets often overlooked but can make a bitchin' peach cobbler and do a frighteningly accurate Gilbert Gottfried impersonation. Their first two records Cabinet and Noctambulant weaseled their way into my listening rotation and had me hooked, but it seemed like they never toured and no one had ever heard of these dudes. The lack of spotlight for this band is quite honestly a loss for the rest of the metal-appreciating community, as Spawn of Possession's recent delivery of Incurso is SO goddamned good.

For metal nerds, this record is incredibly invigorating to listen to. The instruments are continually all over the place and listening to each song is like rapidly...
