Cwabs - The Mysterious Cities of Gold
Cwabs is a SYFFAL submission that hit me in the taint. The opening track was titled bIG fREEZE and I ended up spending more time with that one track than most of the other shit I had going on in the manpod that week. Their style is undeniably simple, but their dope balls are deeply rooted in the fact that the shit is just fucking smooth. When I told them how much I loved it and how awesome it would be if they contributed to our Pop Cultures Collide project, they agreed and a week or so later this shit showed up in my inbox. (yes, code) Cwabs took on a theme song to a cartoon I used to jock the shit out of, not just because I loved the fucking mysteriousnesses of the show, but because the themesong was tits. Sure, they didn't explore the vocals in their sample remix, but that off kilter ting ting shit is sitting first chair (topless and drunk on Zima) and it's sinister on its own. Here be Cwabs, and their remix of the theme song from The Mysterious Cities of Gold.
