Fiona Apple, Adele, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, the Queen of England, Norah Jones, fucking…Madonna. They can all eat shit. Ok I like those other artists so they can stop eating shit now. Andrea Dawn is that new new and I'm here to tell you about her. She is talented bro. Seriously draw a bubble bath, light some candles, and sip some champagne to this Andrea Dawn album, Doll.

This is sentimental music bro. It touches all the feelz in their special spot. Sometimes you just have to go there though ya know? I like to go there and Andrea Dawn makes me want to live there. Her voice is as humid as a swampy summer day in the bayou. Then you get blasted in the face with ice cold air conditioning that is solid instrumentation on tracks like “Tameable.”

I don't want to insinuate that “All The Other Girls” is about me but let’s keep it one hunnet bro bro. That shit is about me. This is a 10 out of 9 on the swoon scale. Andrea Dawn you are mad swoonable boo. I am smitten. Love me. Wait, in “Your Face, Your Shoes” you are saying you “think” that you “like” me? What is this? I thought we were in love? Ugh. ANYWAY.

The production and sound quality on this record is top shelf. It has the potential to be huge. It successfully has me slow dancing with my dog in the living room. That’s no easy feat my friends (because my dog really hates it and pretty much fights me the whole time). On the title track you get a feel for the depth of this record. Intense violin and piano that comes in heavy and fades out to a beautiful sunset like a spring rain storm.

The lyrics on “Everything Is Everything” are killer. When she says, “don't say you hate everything, but you love me ‘cause everything is everything” it gives me chills. That’s that shit that I do like. The lyrics seem to go through the progression of a relationship from “ayyyye girl wassup?” to “sir I am serving you this restraining order.” Later in the album it almost feels like Andrea doesn't even love me at all. What did I do wrong?

Doll is full of emotional lyrics that are matched with heart crushing emotional accompaniment. I am in love with the sound and feel. It will make you want to spend all day in your kitchen drinking coffee, staring at the floor, contemplating your life, and scratching your fupa with a soup spoon. In other words, it’s heaven. I’m going to recommend you check it out and thank me later.
