There are very few instances over the past year where I've put something on without knowing who it was and I end up listening to it all the way through and then again and again and again.

I did that exact shit with the new EP from Kauf, titled As Much Again.

Seriously, I put it on at 5:45am while making breffast for the wifepiece, and by 5:45pm when leaving the day job I had listened to the four songs close to eleven times already. To admit something was perfect so soon into hearing it was a bit presumptuous of course, but how often do we find ourselves inside of a situation and are already declaring it to be the "best" whatever the Fuck it is?

I remember standing in the middle of some of my friends a few months ago at a Sigur Ros show and saying to no one in particular that it was the most notable feeling of bliss I'd ever experienced at a concert before. Was I jumping the gun because I was inside the experience?

Probably not, that shit was balls bros.

But back to Kauf, which is short for his last name Lebowitz, if you're into electronic music that is neither dancey nor thrusty, but rather head noddy and relaxingly comf, As Much Again is exactly the shimmering pair of sweatpants you should insert yourself inside of. As Much Again is shiny and glowing enough to be an intimate sunrise soundtrack, but I'll be damned if it isn't that chunk of music you put on while en route to an evening of pantsless mischief and illegal-in-7-states types demonstrations of sexual prowess.

Kauf sounds like a reasonably potent blend of Minnesota's adorable son's in Solid Gold and the movie Tron, but with the head-nodding vibe of a late 80's Phil Collins video. It's shiny where you'd expect it to be, dingy where you'd not, but it's the closest I'll get to MDMA again in my lifetime.

While playing As Much Again for the 89th time this morning I have determined that if I were to live in a foreign country that specialized in drug addiction and metropolitan public transportation I would probably feel that Kauf was too happy of music to play. But thankfully I live in the corn belt and I find this shit fascinatingly electro-perf-balls.

Kauf. You're balls bro. Hy Fyve?

But seriously, hit play on the track Relocate, memorize the lyrics, and then TRY to sing them without walking like a model bro. Freal. CHECK THIS HIP SWAY SWAG.
