The Wallies drop new single Sex On a Sunday! THIS IS DRANKIN MUSICS!
|
I fucking love it when people I don't know say "you'll probably love this" and I fucking do. Especially a random, unprovoked Facebook message from a guy named Dre.
2econd Class Citizen is a producer I've never heard of creating music I'd be a complete fucking asshole to not admire the fucking pants onto his imaginary svelte 90 pound frame.
Throughout the entire album, The Small Minority, this muthafucker is casting cinematic lines into a black and white movie I've never seen, but it's fucking perfect. I can picture the dude lining up the melody and samples and then sitting down at his drums and just completely fucking destroying the skins. Paired with his choice of vocal samples, each track is keep your head down and walk through the endless maze of bodies our planet has become. Where one figure stops unexpectedly, the other starts up again, the intricate balance of his drums under and over his dreamy soundtracks is a fucking slow ear Fuck I can only appreciate with a subtle head nod.
Tracks like Stop To Wonder and Outside Your Doorway cast a dreary shadow over the day in front of you, but the intensity of his percussion transforms the bleak into inspiration and it's not only fucking delightful, it's fucking erotic. Taking cues from Joe Beats and Maker and Awkward and Edison and every other producer that's ever given me fucking goosebumps, The Small Minority is a fucking solo drive out in the country with nothing but a pipe and a bottle of carbonated water.
Why carbonated water?
Because bubbles bursting on my motherfucking tongue represent the steady and unintentional strike of this muthafucker's delivery and I can do nothing but stare out my window and click the auto-pilot button on my minivan and hope for the fucking best. Seriously this dude's choice of borrowed vocal samples is fucking epically personal, and when he destroys a once comfortable rhythm with a psychotic chop of the drums, the dreary transforms from introspective to let's get the Fuck out of here while we have the chance.
The drums on Change (What We're Creating) go from hell yeah this is tight to jesus fucking christ on a cracker I'll drive if you hang out the passenger side window and fire on those peruvian shits who're out to gank our ancient precious metals.
2econd Class Citizen drafted a musical version of the car chase scenes in Ronin, except instead of hoping the protagonist gets away with his hide, you're smack the Fuck dab inside the explosion as your own vehicle starts on fucking fire.
Epic is a fucking understatement, and perfect is the only way I can succinctly describe such a fucking album.
