There appears to be a bit of a renaissance going on in Hip Hop at the moment. Whether it is the west coast sounds of Odd Future, Lil B, Open Mike Eagle and Thirsty Fish; or on the east coast Meyhem Lauren, Homeboy Sandman, Soul Khan; or Midwest luminaries like Stalley and Danny Brown. Hip Hop seems to be moving in a positive direction.

There is a move towards lyricism, originality, quality production and art for the sake of art.

Action Bronson, who if I am being honest, I never really paid much attention to until very recently, is a beast of a rapper and has to be considered one of the leaders in a new school of rappers who are taking it back while moving forward. His production is steeped in the sounds of the past yet still fresh and original, and his skills are just top notch. Dude can rap his fucking ass off. This video for the song Shiraz off his album Dr. Lecter is a perfect example of what this man is capable of. If you like this song, get yourself the album, because like its namesake it is a killer.
